Hannah Crawford Elementary School
Hannah Crawford Elementary is an inviting place for approximately 460 PreK-5 students to attend as a part of a strong heritage of Excellence in the Colonel Crawford Local School System. We strive for excellence by continually monitoring student's progress and providing interventions where indicated for student success.
The Hannah Crawford staff is highly qualified and meeting weekly to improve upon our Annual Yearly Progress and number of State Indicators met for the district. Our building motto is "Eagle Excellence is being respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. We believe in a brighter tomorrow for each and every student".
In addition to language arts, math, science, and social studies, students have opportunities in art, physical education, music, Title 1, and recess. Lunch is served to all students in grades K-5. Activities here are often coordinated with the high school and the junior high school. We have several assemblies throughout the year that are sponsored by the PTO through our Market Day program. We have an "Honors Luncheons" program for students in grades 3-5 who have earned the Honor Roll distinction each quarter of the school year. We also have quarterly "Manners Luncheon" in all grades with PTO sponsorship to encourage all students to use good manners all throughout the school. In addition, we offer mentoring and tutoring opportunities through the Project M.O.R.E. program and the County Mentoring programs. We are anticipating much success again this year as we have many volunteers trained and currently working with our Little Eagles. We also have a "Big Eagle Buddies" program that utilizes junior high and high school students to inspire our "Little Eagles" to be good Eagle Citizens each and every day. We also have the DARE programs for our students in grades K-4. During the 2016-2017 school year, we will seek to continually improve overall academically. The goal is to be aware of where the students are academically and to provide whatever intervention is necessary to help them be successful.
The PTO does an outstanding job supporting the students and the staff here at Hannah Crawford. The Colonel Crawford Schools Foundation supports the entire district. We are thankful to have these great programs.
Our parents are active and interested in our students and their success as they volunteer for P.T.O. functions, parties, and other programs throughout the year. This partnering with staff makes Hannah Crawford a very special place and keeps the commitment to excellence permeating throughout the Colonel Crawford Family.
We have the following STAFF VISION and work hard toward the achievement of it: The staff of Hannah Crawford shares a COMMON VISION of a school that provides a positive, caring, safe environment which fosters active learning through a student-centered approach. We envision ourselves as a staff of passionate, dedicated professionals who are willing to model and facilitate a team approach utilizing all available internal and external resources. We desire to promote an atmosphere of student ownership and responsibility that will be nurtured through pride and mutual respect.
School Messenger is a program provided for parents that automatically makes phone calls for delays, cancellations, and other informant announcements.
"As our students thirst for knowledge in 2016-2017 let us all partner to meet those needs and desires for quenching that thirst and proceed with excellence."
